At Nordic Sheep you will find two kinds of merino lambskin: long wool and short wool. Both are 100% genuine and come from New Zealand – but they feel quite different and look different, too.
Long wool: lush and warm
A long-wool lambskin has a wool length of around 5–7 cm. It is wonderfully soft and instantly creates that typically Scandinavian cosiness. Perfect over the sofa, on the armchair, beside the bed or as a rug on the floor. Our tip: brush it now and then with a lambskin brush and the wool will stay nice and loose.
Short wool: simple and practical
A short-wool lambskin is shorn to around 2–3 cm. It looks modern and clean, is particularly easy to care for and slips less. That is why short wool is the favourite for dining chairs, office chairs, the pram and the children's room.
And curly?
If you like things especially playful, go for a curly lambskin from Tibet: long, silky curls that turn any sofa or armchair into an eye-catcher.
Which size?
- 90x60 cm – the classic size for a chair or beside the bed.
- 170x60 cm (double) – for the sofa or as a bedside rug along the long side of the bed.
- 170x110 cm – a proper rug for the living room.
